So~ finally worked on recreating my advice poster. I finished it last night actually but I was just so tired of Photoshop that I called it good for the day.
I obviously fixed the ear, which was the main reason why I had to redo this poster. Hopefully it's a better fix, because honestly, I'm kinda feeling done with this poster -____-"
And compared to the original, I changed a good chunk of things. I was kinda sad that I didn't keep my mint green/hot pink colors and changed the mint to a softer blue, but it felt right. I didn't like the idea of having the mint and the blue clashing and competing for attention, so I simply chose one over the other.
I also got rid of her clanky leg belts. I loved the idea, but it just didn't turn out right, so I got rid of those and gave her some different clothes. Rather than the weird vest, I gave her a jacket that was inspired by Tidus from Final Fantasy X (everything I do is video game inspired... :'D) If I went more detailed with the jacket, it would be a... hm, well, I guess it would be a more structured and firmer jacket. Like, it wouldn't really flow with the wind like some do. Anywho, I gave her a patterned shirt that wasn't so unnoticable. The other one was just so... plain. It almost matched her skin tone o___o"
And the boots were less constricting and I gave her a tattoo. Much better~ :]
So, when I was creating the background, I was trying to repeat the same idea with the previous poster and it just wasn't working. Plus, I felt that since her shirt was already diagonal with the stripes, I shouldn't make the text that way because it would look odd. So I just made to go horizontal and I made to fade more so that the person would notice the drawing more rather than having a smack in the face wow poster where you don't really know what to look at. I actually stumbled into that idea and I really liked how it turned out. And of course, I had to keep the paint splotches.
So there we are~ Took me two, long and stressful days to complete. Now on to other assignments
;_____;
I realized not too long ago that I still have quite a few things left for homework. Ugh.... Not happy.
Ah screw the sizing! I'll just leave it big x____x

I miss the green. :( But, I like how the blue matches the tattoo, the blue in the jacket, and her eyes a bit.
ReplyDeleteThe ear's angle looks MUCH better, though, I feel that it is a bit too small now... You don't have to fix it, it doesn't stand out to me as much as the other one did. The other one SERIOUSLY bugged me, this one not so much, so that's very good.
To be inspired by games is awesome! :{D
I like that the shirt is yellow and white striped, I have no idea why. To me, those just feel like they were the best colors to go with.
I also miss the other font and the angle of it, but I think that the balance of the pink is nicer, and the letters stand out more.
I noticed how you added more shape/roundness to the back of her head, I like that you did that very much!
I think that removing all the stuff you had on the leg and adding more to the arm looks better too.
This version just seems to blend all together nicely, which I like, but I liked how the other one "popped". Both are very different, but I like what you changed and added with this one overall.
...Hopefully, that just made sense...
